Ponds and Lakes range in size from just a few square meters to thousands of square kilometers. Ponds are considered seasonal because they only last for a few months, as compared to lakes which can last up to hundreds of years. Algae grows on both of these and one of the most commonly seen animals here are ducks.

Streams and rivers are bodies of flowing water, they can be found every and can come from heads of water or even snow melts and flow all the way down to their mouths, which could be a lake, or all the way to the ocean. A common plant seen here is cattails, an animal you would regularly see is the trout.

The short-necked turtle is an endangered species of the freshwater biome because thanks to humans it's not so fresh. Humans have polluted the water with their toxic run off from civilizations.
